Hello,
I wish to thank my colleagues Mrs. Vasil, Mrs. Canal, Miss Klein, Mr. Kozdemba, and Mrs Gomez for their help in making our 2024 Science Fair a successful worthwhile event. Their time and guidance contributed to the achievements of our young scientists.
Thank you to the parents for guiding their student scientists during the process of creating the projects.
Congratulations to the winners! All students are winners by working on a project, experiment, or demonstration to showcase their talents, creativity, and scientific development.
Happy Earth Day!
A special thank you to Mrs. Naviello for being our fifth grade science class partner in education. The farmers had fun planting their seeds in the pods and will now watch them grow!
Parents and students:
Science Fair will be on April 23rd.
All students MUST have ALL components for their display:
Display boards
Journal
Photos
Research paper
Experiment
Judging will be conducted after school (students are not staying)
Students MUST return at 6pm and awards will start promptly at 6:30pm
All projects need to be collected at the end of the Awards Ceremony
All research papers, journals and photos MUST BE GIVEN TO Mrs. Vasil (6th-8th) and Mr. Puzio (5th grade)
Judges will score on :
Display board rubric
Scientific Method components:
Problem Question Hypothesis. Materials. Procedure. Data Graph Results and Conclusion
Please note: through the guidance of myself and Mrs. Vasil, we made it very clear that all Projects needed to be testable and not just a model. If it is only a model, with no proper data or graphing , points will be deducted.
and finally
Experiment
All of these components with judging will also be used for grading.
I would like to thank Mrs. Canal, Ms. Klein, Mrs. Miles, Mr. Kozemba and Ms. Ferrara for all the hard work in assisting and guiding the students these past few weeks. Without their commitment in assuring all student’s information and the components accuracy, this Science Fair would not be possible.
Mrs. Vasil and I are coordinating the Science Fair 2024. Here is the information all junior high science classes will follow:
The Science fair is on April 23rd. All components MUST be completed prior so we can look over your information. The model should be brought in the morning of the 23rd, no later.
For your Science fair you will need:
Research paper (must be printed out)
Model/experiment ( all topics MUST be testable)
Science Fair journal
Small photo album ( can be pics clipped together or put as a collage) of you and your partner/group working on your model/experiment.
Display board: will be worked on in School only
Please make note that you will be working on this during classes the week of April 8th , so you MUST have all of the components typed up in a doc so Mrs. Canal and Ms. Klein can look it over.
We will be printing out the week of April 15th and we will work on the boards.
Materials needed:
scissors,
glue sticks
all printed pages
Subtitles
Subtitles should include: font size is approximately 48-52 (info size is around 36) (Ms. Klein will go over sizes)

Hypothesis
Problem question
Procedure
Materials
Data table and Graph (this is a must)
Results
Conclusion
and pics of you and your group working on the model/lab (this is a must)
Please Note: The Science Fair counts towards multiple grade components so make sure each category is completed.
