Dear 1A Families,
I cannot believe that it is already the week we go on Christmas Break! The time has really flown by. Here are a few reminders for this week:
- Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater or Ugly Shirt Day (uniforms are required if your child is not dressing in their ugly Christmas gear)
- Our Christmas Concert is at 10am sharp on Thursday. You may take your child after the concert if you would like just please make sure you sign them out.
- THERE IS NO AFTERCARE THURSDAY
School resumes January 2nd after Christmas break and we have some exciting changes in our classroom to help us prepare for 2nd grade!
One of those changes will be that students will now be required to bring home their books for homework to prepare them for the responsibility of second grade. We will also begin taking weekly spelling tests beginning the 2nd week of January and reading assessments for the stories we read in class. Writer’s workshop will also begin sometime in January and our first writing topic will be personal narratives!
Your children have been working so hard and they are now ready to take the next step in their learning journey!
