This week we accomplished so much! I cannot believe how much growth we have seen in just a few short weeks!
In math… we are wrapping up chapter 2 learning all about addition using ten frames, using the hops method on our number lines, adding three numbers and more! We will conclude chapter 2 next week!
In language arts… we learned all about the -ck digraph and word families containing the ending -ck. We also read Sam, Come Back and are really making tremendous strides in reading. Keep up the good work at home by practicing sight words and reviewing all the word families we have learned so far weekly.
In Religion…we have been learning about the story of Moses and Baptism.
In Social Studies…we have been learning about community and community helpers. Ask your child what community helpers are in our neighborhood!
In Science…we are learning all about our senses and the fall season.
A few Reminders and Notes…
- Your child came home with some assessments today. If it has a number grade on it please sign it and return it to me Monday. The assessments are just for me to gauge how each student is doing.
- Tuesday is Halloween. The parade is at 1pm with the class party immediately following. Please check for updates from the school regarding the parade if necessary.
- Bullying Prevention session is Next Thursday for Parents. Please see school email regarding information.
- Next Friday is a half day. Dismissal is at 12pm and aftercare is available.
- Picture day is Wednesday November 8th. Our class picture will be the day before and all students should wear their uniform for the class picture.
- Trick Tray theme for our class is “That’s Italian”. Please send in donations for our class basket.
