5B Remote Schedule

5B Student Schedule

Click on schedule for remote learning for the schedule for 5B. It is the same schedule they follow during the week when they are here. 5B students are to log into 5B ELA / Literature no later than 8:10am for morning attendance. Then, log out and log in to the first class.

Students need to go to the Google Classroom for each teacher. For example, for math, they need to go to 5B Math with Mrs. Rooney. When they get to the classroom they just click onto the Google Meet link and they will join the class.

If you have any questions, please email me.

Ms. Klein

Happy Thanksgiving!

I would like to wish everyone a very blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving! Enjoy time with family and friends. Stay safe and be well.

A big thank you goes out to the 5th grade class moms for supplying our feast this year. The kids loved it, and we are truly grateful.

Please pray for those who are less fortunate, suffering sickness or loss, and anyone finding the holiday season difficult. May they find peace and love through God’s Grace.

Over the weekend, please check my blog for remote learning instructions and schedule. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.

Peace,

Ms. Klein

Remote Learning

Guidelines for Remote Learning Week of 11-30-2020 to 12-4-2020

From Monday 11-16 to Wednesday 11-25, students will be taking hard cover books, workbooks, and notebooks home in preparation for the week of remote learning.

1) Students should already be members of each subject’s Google Classroom. They were signed up in September. This includes specials

2) We will be using a half day schedule. Classes will begin at 8:15 am. We will change classes on the half and the three quarter hour.

3) By 8:10 students should sign into whatever class their homeroom teacher designates so we can take attendance.

4) At 8:15 students should join Google Meet for their first class. All they need to do is go to the class and click on the link for Google Meet.

5) We will end classes a few minutes early so students can log out of the class that is ending and sign into the next class.

6) In the afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 the teachers will be available for extra help.

8A – log into 8th grade Social Studies – Mr. Kozdemba

8B – log into 8B ELA – Mrs. Canal

7A – log into 7A Science – Mr. Puzio

7B – log into 7B Religion – Mrs. Guerra

6A – log into 6A Science – Mrs. Vasil

6B – log into 6B Science – Mrs. Alberti

5A – log into Social Studies – Mrs. Rooney

5B – log into 5B ELA – Mrs. Klein

Because we were remote at the end of last year, we are looking forward to a smooth transition.

If you need further clarification, email your child’s homeroom teacher. If there are many of you with questions, we’ll have a Zoom meeting this Thursday 11-19-2020 at 6:30 pm. Otherwise, we will handle your individual questions. If we are having a Zoom meeting we will contact you with the particulars.

8th Grade Letters of Recommendation

Please supply your teachers will all the necessary information to complete recommendation requests. Some schools require written recommendations, some require online forms to be filled out. It is your responsibility to print out any forms needed, or supply us with the links necessary to complete your recommendation. Please check your prospective schools and let us know what is required. Those young men who have applied to Don Bosco and are requesting a recommendation, you must go to their website and print out the form for your Math and ELA teachers. Bergen Catholic does not have an online form, so a written letter of recommendation is required. You must supply the teacher who is writing your recommendation with a stamped and addressed envelope to mail to Bergen Catholic. I do not see anything on Seton Hall Prep’s site requiring a recommendation. If this is needed, please let us know. St. Joseph’s Regional requires a letter emailed to admissions. This is all part of your application process, and not the responsibility of your teachers. Once we receive the materials needed, we will complete your recommendations.

Girl Scout Sock Donations

Our Girl Scouts are collecting new socks for children and adults. Please consider donating a new pair for someone in need. Believe it or not, socks are the most asked for clothing item of those who are homeless, and in shelters. Let’s help our Girl Scouts help others. Thank you in advance for thinking of those who are less fortunate.

The collection bins are in the 5th and 6th grade homerooms.

8th Grade Reminder – Please Read ASAP

Because the deadline is quickly approaching and high school transcripts must be completed and sent to your prospective schools, the first trimester grades will close out this Monday, the 16th. I have just completed grading the assignments on Google Classroom and entered grades into PowerSchool. There are some missing assignments for a handful of students. Please check PowerSchool ASAP; complete any of your missing assignments and submit them to me by tomorrow afternoon. If these assignments are not completed, I cannot give you credit for your work. Unfortunately, this will negatively affect your total 1st trimester grade. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Ms. Klein
