Upcoming fun

FROM:   Carl Tramontozzi, HSA President

RE:          Upcoming Fun

Hello, Fellow Fantastic Families!

So, we all stumble out of bed this morning, stubbing our toe and spilling hot coffee on ourselves, to take our little ones to school, only to find our cars enveloped in a thick impenetrable layer of FROST!!  What happened?!  Is it Global Cooling?  Are we being invaded?  Where did the Fall go?

When of course, it struck me like a brick that the Holidays are upon us.  AAGGHH!! Breathe …

Fortunately, there are some great things to talk about in this regard.

The COUPON BOOKS make an EXCELLENT gift.  All the places that our extended families and friends go, they get substantial discounts.  Plus, the coolest part, they don’t have to carry around the book at all, just open the App, peruse all the coupons, and display it where you go.  Now we can be just like our kids and sit there with our face in our phones!  This is SUCH an easy way to get points, you get one point for every two books sold.  and if you get your orders in by December 10th, it is guaranteed before Christmas.

Important note:  When you return your sample book, PLEASE attach your family name on a sticky note or paper somewhere so we know it’s yours.  We don’t want you charged for an extra book.

Next up … (drum roll please)… SANTA’S VILLAGE!!  Yes, folks, everybody’s favorite Saint is coming back.  And if you think last year’s event was fun, ohhhh, just you WAIT.  It’s bigger…it’s bolder…it’s bodacious …it’s even better than before.  Let’s put it this way, there’s no better was to spend a cozy, relaxing, fun and exciting Christmas-time morning.  And maybe even win some prizes.  You’re not gonna wanna leave.  If you get your tickets in advance, there is a discount!  Just think of how much moolah you’d spend with your family visiting Santa at the mall or other places.  This is all inclusive – and you’ll be hangin’ with your SHS friends and community.  Details and order form will be in this Thursday’s folder.

As always, please don’t hesitate to continue to contact me for any reason. I’m down.

HSAPrezSacredHeart@gmail.com

OK I’m going to go stuff all my shorts and t-shirts into a bin and carry it up to the attic now.  And maybe have some Sambuca coffee.  “See ya on the playground!”

Lots of Love,

Carl Tramontozzi

Message from Carl Tramantozzi, HSA Co-President; Come One, Come All! Monday 10/22

To all the beautiful families of our school, Sacred Heart –

This is my first cyber-communication to you, so I wanted to take the opportunity to say what a pleasure and honor it is to serve you as incoming President.  I can only hope to eventually be as effective as our superhuman powerhouse, Lois.  Whatever she’s taking, I want some.

Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, ideas, etc.  I promise you that I will listen and make a mega-effort to act on it appropriately.  If nothing else, we’ll have a great conversation.

Which leads me to Monday!  As I said at Back to School Night, we’re going to have FUN this year.  And it starts this Monday, 10/22, at 7pm.  It is the first meeting of our Home School Association, of which YOU are a huge part.  We’re going to do something novel this year.  We’re going to all actually MEET each other.  (WHAT?)  There will be music, wine and cheese, fruit, fresh baked goods, refreshments, coffee/tea.  There will be child care in the library, and we’ll also have all the Spirit Wear available as well as other items.  But most importantly, you’ll find out about the things that directly affect our KIDS who attend here.  You’ll learn more about the events and activities that we have planned, hear about the “state of the state” of the school, and have an opportunity to speak up yourself!

As I’ve said before, we are so Blessed to be at a school where we get to be a PART of our children’s experience – and have a say in it – as such, we become part of bigger, stronger community of families looking out for each other.  Isn’t that what it’s all about?  So please come join us on Monday, even to just have a drink, say hi, sit down, and relax for a bit.  But please, no snoring.

See you Monday!

Warm Regards,

Carl Tramantozzi

clarification

In reference to the earlier email today regarding the Stationary Sale, ONE (1) fundraising point will be awarded for each $50 spent on merchandise.  This is stated in the letter which accompanied the catalogs as well as in the Fundraising Assessment flier.

Apologies for any confusion ….. but that means you should catalog shop even MORE!

Remember ….. orders due in on Tuesday, October 2nd!

Thanks:)

Deadlines ….

Hello SHS Families!

Just a few deadline reminders ….

  1.  STATIONARY SALE – Please send all orders in by NEXT Tuesday, October 2nd.  Remember …. each $100 spent awards you 1 fundraising point.  Christmas wrap?  Holiday pies? Please shop and support our school family!  Catalogs and order forms went home with children several weeks ago.
  2. MUM SALE is continuing this week in support of Class of 2019.  We will accept pre-orders via form on Thursday Folder through this Thursday, 9/27.  We will be in the parking lot on Friday, 9/28 for pre-order pick up and will sell to anyone else at that time (12noon-4pm).  In addition, we will be selling at all masses this weekend 9/29 and 9/30.  Quality mums for a great price …. without the hassle of shopping for them!

STAY DRY!

HAPPY FALL!

Good Morning SHS family and HAPPY FALL!

Like it our not ….. summer is officially over:(

So let’s jump in with both feet and support our Fall Events!

Trunk or Treat is around the corner …. 10/26.  Our new chairs and I are busy planning a FUN family night for all.  So plan your costumes, get the treat bags ready and reach out to me (973-800-9601) should you want to sponsor a TRUNK or help on our committee.  Fundraising points are available for both!

The 8th Grade Mum Sale is next weekend so DON’T BUY MUMS THIS WEEKEND!  Support this Class of 2019 event by ordering ahead (see form in Thursday Folder) or attend mass next weekend.  We will be outside all masses.  PLEASE NOTE: For those who have/will pre order, our pick up is Friday, September 28th.  The times have CHANGED due to the half day.  Mums will now be available for pick up from 12noon through 4pm on the side lawn of the parking lot (old convent).  We will also sell to those who didn’t pre order at this time.  Quality 8 inch mums, tight bloom, $8 each or 3/$20 …. picked up at your school instead of a crazy, crowded nursery!  YIPPEE!

Enjoy the first weekend of Fall …. do something fun ….. but don’t buy mums!  LOL

Enjoy!  Lois Kosc

Apologies and Presents

I am wholeheartedly embarrassed and apologetic that there are 12 families who never received parts of their Spirit Wear orders from our year end sale.  Many “snafus” occurred on various levels.

However, everyone will receive what is owed to them within 2 weeks, delivered to your child, in their classroom.

As a peace offering and apology, I would ask you to stop by the Spirit Wear table at Back to School night on Thursday, September 20th.  There will be gifts there for all 12 families.

Mea Culpa

Don’t miss the chance!

Welcome back to our 2018/19 school year!!!

Reminder that THIS THURSDAY, September 20th is Back to School Night!  Don’t miss the opportunity to meet your child’s/children’s teachers and see the classrooms.

This is the first opportunity to sign up for events and begin earning your fundraising points!  The “new” HSA board will be on site to assist you in choosing your fundraising opportunities.

And speaking of fundraising opportunities …… we have a GREAT ONE available to the first one or two lucky volunteers ….

BOO! Yes … it is that time again …. our ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT EVENT is just around the corner – Friday, October 26th!

We are in urgent search of one or two very special parents who would be willing to chair this phenomenally fun and extremely well attended family event.  Ideally, we would love parents from the younger grades because it’s a great event to chair over several years.  Once you learn the ropes, it’s a cinch!  I am personally willing to assist and “coach” the new chair(s).  Make your kids proud and have a bootiful time!

So put this Thursday on your calendar and imagine all you can do for a great SHS Halloween event!

If anyone is “dying” to take on Trunk or Treat and can’t wait until Thursday …. give me a call!  973-800-9601

Lois

Fundraising

Good morning!

We discussed at the most recent HSA meeting that we would be doing a “last effort” fundraiser.

In light of the fact that we cancelled two events this year due to lack of attendance, we have opted for an easy, “no show” fundraiser which allows families to continue with their busy schedules while still supporting their children’s school.

Therefore, over the next week, every family will be receiving a box of Gertrude Hawk chocolate bars to be sold.  Each box contains 48 bars of mixed chocolate.  Each bar is $1 and the box is $48.

Every SHS family will be expected to sell one (1) box of candy.  Since many families are still behind in fundraising points, Mrs Durocher has agreed to give one (1) fundraising point for each box of candy sold.  Families may request more boxes once their first box is sold.

The boxes will be coming home with the oldest or only child from each family.  It will have your name on the box and a copy of this letter will be included.  There will be an envelope for the return of the $48.

There are two chairpersons running this event and their names and contact information is as follows:

Michele Ruggier (michelabc1@aol.com)

Rosemary Marranzino (201-446-0402)

Please contact us with any questions!

Thank you for your continued support of our school and our children!

Lois Kosc, President, HSA
