From the Desk of the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I hope your Summer has been going well.    It has been a very hot one so far.    I want to keep you up to date on changes at Sacred Heart.   Our Deacon Liguori will not be returning to Sacred Heart next year.  He has many parish duties and his Elvis entertainment makes it difficult to also keep up with class work.   The upper grade teachers from Grades 5-8 will be teaching the religion classes.     I hired a part time music teacher, Beth Ann Coleman.   Those who are part of the Instrumental program know Mrs. Coleman very well.  She will now also be a part of the Sacred Heart Staff .  She will be part time, as we have with our Art teacher.    She is a wonderful music teacher.  I know you will be happy with the children’s music classes in this new year.

I hired a Prek 4 teacher, Mrs. Sharon Hurst who came to us from St. Catherine’s school in Ringwood which closed a year ago.   She has been teaching Early Childhood children for many years.    She is a welcome professional to our staff.

Please keep spreading the good news.  If you recommend a family to Sacred Heart and they enroll, you will receive a fundraising point for every child enrolled.  One family received three points today because two families came to Sacred Heart on her recommendation.

The supply lists are up on the front page of the website under Summer resource.   Grades 5-8 must use the school combination lock.   The 5th graders will receive them at school we just ask for $6.00 toward the cost.  If students in Grades 6,7,8 are new or do not have their lock from last year, they can purchase a new one.    Grades 5- 8 are using Book Socks this year, not paper bags.  Please make sure you purchase the Jumbo book socks.  Most of their books will need  the Jumbo size.  Every student Grades 1-8 MUST have a pencil case.   Students cannot walk the halls with loose pens or pencils.

More cameras have been installed in school.  We have them on all stairways and floors.   Class lists will not be posted until right before Labor Day.    They change every day.

School begins for Grades 1-8 on September 4th.   The 4th, 5th, 6th of September are half days with dismissal at 12:10.    A letter will be mailed to your home within the next week.   If you do not receive a letter in the mail by August 15th, please let Patty know so that we can get one out to you.

Enjoy the rest of the summer weeks.  See you soon.
